Student Government (SG) has existed since the University of Miami started in 1926, aptly named the Student Association. it started with a senate that included representatives from academic classes who allocated activity fee money and, at some points, a student-managed honor code enforcement group. It has changed much through the years, but, at the beginning of the 1959 academic year, members reorganized the association to most closely resemble the 3 branch and agency group organization we see today. Below is the history of chief executive officers from 1959 to the present.
